LNG boom: Australian Government 'far behind' in capturing benefits, paper finds

Australia's current revenue from oil and gas production suggests the nation is "falling far behind" in its ability to capture the benefits of the LNG export boom, according to a new briefing paper from the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF).

The ITF cited industry data showing the Government collected just $US7.3 billion in revenues related to oil and gas production in 2014, well below its peers when compared as a percentage of total production.
